Samsung Galaxy S4 Vs Nokia Lumia 920–Head-to-Head Comparison
Samsung’s latest flagship just got released a few days back on 14th March Samsung’s event. The flagship which was revealed that day was not more but the extra anticipated – Samsung Galaxy S4. The moment Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced; everyone started to compare it with all the other dominant smartphones which mainly include the iPhone 5, Xperia Z, Nexus 4 and Nokia’s flagship – the Nokia Lumia 920. With everyone comparing these smartphones with GS4, today, we are also going to compare the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Nokia Lumia 920.
Mentioned below is a head to head comparison of Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nokia Lumia 920, each and every specification has been discussed without being biased. So without any further discussion, let’s jump to the main part.
Display and Looks
First, let us talk about the display and the looks of both these colossal smartphones. As you must have noticed in the pictures, the Samsung Galaxy S4 looks much like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3. It has round edges, plastic back and a massive 5-inch screen, which is perhaps the only thing which makes it look different from the Galaxy S3. On the other hand, Nokia Lumia 920 has a 4.5 Inch screen, plastic back and round edges. Along with this, Samsung Galaxy S4 also has a healthy HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels where as the Nokia Lumia has a 720p resolution of 1280×720 pixels.
Winner – As far as the looks are concerned, the Nokia Lumia and the Samsung Galaxy S4 are both elegant looking smartphones, and when we take into consideration the screen size, a few People like big screens and a few find it too gigantic, but personally speaking, the Galaxy S4 can give you a really good gaming experience therefore, Samsung Galaxy S4 is the one winning over here.
Processor
The Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts a Quad-Core 1.9 GHz processor whereas the Nokia Lumia has a 1.5 GHz Dual-core processor. Well, nothing can be debated over at this part because the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the clear winner over here; it is undoubtedly faster than the Nokia Lumia 920. In fact, the processor of the Galaxy S4 will eventually become another reason why it will give an immense pleasurable gaming experience on a 5 Inched smartphone.
Winner - Samsung Galaxy S4
Camera
Now here comes the good part for the Nokia Lumia 920 fans. Although the Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts a 13 MP rear facing camera whereas the Lumia 920 only has a 8.7 MP rear facing camera, but still, I would prefer Nokia Lumia 920’s camera to be the better one due to its low-light picture taking aptitude. However, as far as the front facing Camera is concerned the Galaxy S4 has a 2 MP front facing camera and the Nokia Lumia 920 has a 1.3 MP camera, but again, the Nokia Lumia is the one ahead over here only due to its Pure View feature.
Winner – Nokia Lumia 920 slightly ahead of Galaxy S4
Operating System
Well, comparing the operating systems of both these giants – the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Nokia Lumia 920; is not an easy task because at the end of the day, user friendliness is all what matters. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is will run on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 as a stock firmware where as the Nokia Lumia 920 runs on Windows. However, when we consider the fact that Android is having more market share than Windows (phones), then we can say that the Nokia Lumia 920 is lacking behind when it comes to the Operating System. But again, I must add, user friendliness is what matters.
Winner – Samsung Galaxy S4 (as per market dominance)
Storage and Price
The last factor which we are going to compare between Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy S4 is the storage and the Price. Nokia Lumia 920 comes with 32 GB internal storage and without expandable storage option. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S4 can come with 16, 32, and 64 GB of internal storage along with the option to expand the storage using an SD card. As far as the price is concerned, the Nokia Lumia 920 is available for $530 on Amazon and when it comes to the Galaxy S4, we don’t have any news regarding its price yet but just as a guess, it might be around $650-$700.
Winner – Samsung Galaxy S4 despite the fact that it might be more expensive because it will have better specifications anyhow.
After reading the whole comparison mentioned above, you must have already decided that which one is better. Well even if you did not, then here is my personal pick – the Samsung Galaxy S4.
