Samsung Galaxy S that comes with a bunch of good features and Android 2.1 operating system, can now be upgraded to 2.3 Gingerbread version. If you want to enjoy Android 2.3 Samsung Galaxy S, then do check this step by step process.

Prerequisites
- Start the process, when your battery is charged for at least 70 percent.
- Take the backup of data before you start with the upgrade process.
Step by Step Procedure for Android 2.3 Samsung Galaxy S
- Download the Android 2.3 Samsung Galaxy S firmware from here.
- Download the Odin from here.
- Enter your Samsung Galaxy S into Download Mode. You can do so by pressing theVolume Down + Home+ Power buttons together.
- Start Odin on PC and connect your device to your computer. The ID:COM boxes will turn yellow on successful connection.
- Now follow these steps :
Click on PDA and choose file with CODE in its nam
Click on Phone and choose file with MODEM in its name
Click on CSC and choose file with CSC in its name
Click on PIT and choose the .pit file
- Check the Auto Reboot and F.Reset options.
- Click on the ‘Start‘ button to initiate the process.
- Restart your phone.
